Do you find that you often feel the emotions of the people around you? Do you seem to be more affected than most by the pain and suffering in the world? If so, you might be an empath.
Empath is kind of a buzz word in the spiritual community lately, and I hear questions from my clients about being an empath almost every week. Being highly sensitive to the energy around you can affect your relationships, career, productivity, and many other areas of your life.
In today’s video, I’m sharing how to know if you are an empath, the positives and negatives to having this high level of sensitivity, and a simple exercise you can do to regulate your energy and emotions more easily.
Before you click the video, I have to warn you that the cicadas (bugs) have provided their own soundtrack. They get softer after the first minute, but at first it can be a little shocking. Maybe you can think of it as the “noise” of other people’s energy that can sometimes have a strong presence in your life.
Sure. We’ll go with that.
Here’s that great message from Spirit Guides you can say to cleanse your energy and help you get a wonderful start to the day:
I am love.
I am filled with love.
I am surrounded by love.
Only love can affect me.
When I’m doing readings, my clients are working through a lot of emotional energy. They may start the reading feeling worried and confused about an area of their life, and then they go through relief, joy, and empowerment as they hear the messages from Spirit Guides. If I don’t monitor and take care of my energy, I’ll cry when they cry, go through their same cycle of emotions, and I won’t be able to give them the attention and guidance they are looking for. I’m constantly aware of what’s happening with my client’s energy and my own in order to provide them with the best experience.
If you are talking to someone who is going through a particularly difficult time, imagine your protective “bubble” as extra strong during that moment. Tell yourself that you are observing how they are feeling but leaving their energy with them.
If you ever are unsure whether the emotions or physical symptoms you’re feeling are yours or not, just ask the question, “Is this mine?” If it’s not yours, it will immediately leave you. If it is yours, you’ll continue to experience it.
By following these simple suggestions every day, you will develop the habit of taking care of your energy, and it will become something that you naturally do. Your life will be easier because you won’t have extreme mood swings or get drained when you’re with a group of people, and you’ll be able to use your high sensitivity to help yourself and others.
Sending lots of love to you!
