Are your thoughts stealing from you?

Are your thoughts stealing from you? by Melanie The Medium

This week I did a reading for a woman who was looking forward to a new career. However, she told herself it would be difficult to find a new job, that she was too old to start over, and that she wouldn’t be paid as much in a new job. Those thoughts made her feel discouraged and worried that she’d be stuck in her current job forever. Her thoughts were stealing her energy, and they weren’t even accurate thoughts.

We all have moments when our thoughts steal our energy or joy. Usually it happens when we really, really want something. The more we want something, the more we fear that it’s not possible to get it. In today’s video, I’m sharing how to recognize when your thoughts are stealing from you and how to get back to a pattern of positive thinking.

The key to changing your thinking is to be an observer of your thoughts. When you’re feeling down, notice the thought that is causing you to feel that way. Pay attention to it, and question it. What could you think instead to make yourself feel better?

Sometimes it’s easier if you imagine someone you love telling themselves what you are telling yourself. If you’re telling yourself that you’re ugly, overweight, and unlovable, imagine that someone you love is saying that to themselves. What would you say to encourage them? Say those words to yourself.

Being your own cheerleader takes practice, but it will help you accomplish every goal you have. You can do amazing things…as long as your thoughts don’t steal your hope and energy away. Be a giver to yourself. Give yourself the joy, encouragement, love, hope, and courage that you need to live the life YOU want to live.

Sending you love today!

Melanie
