Mark and I were walking along the creek the other day, talking about the changes winter has brought. All the leaves that looked so fresh and green in the spring are now in piles on the ground, and the days feel awash in grays and browns. Then, we turned a corner. Tucked in a bend near a little bridge, we saw vibrant fuchsia roses!
They brought brightness to the gray surroundings and reminded me that even during times when life feels dark and dreary, beauty can be found.
An unexpected kindness, a smile, a special event, or a person can brighten our day. Like roses in winter. Unexpected blessings.
They reminded me that spring is just around the corner. And sometimes we need that reminder – that new beginnings and brighter days are on their way!
