How do you react to your fears?

I had a dream recently where I was given a message from my Spirit Guides about how to react when I encounter fear.

I was in a valley with tall hills on either side of me. There was a cheetah running on the hillside to my right, and I was scared of it. I thought it was running and going to get me, so I ran toward the hillside on my left.

I saw more cheetahs running on the hillside I was on. I didn’t know where to run, and I felt fearful. Then the scene stopped, and I heard a voice behind me saying that I would get to try the same scenario again with the option of behaving differently.

How do you react to your fears?

The scene began again. I was in a valley and saw the cheetahs running frantically to my left and right. Even though I felt the desire to run from them, I didn’t move. I stood where I was and closed my eyes.

I focused on the peace and stillness inside of me. As I focused inward, the world around me faded from my notice and I felt at peace. Then I felt a softness on my fingertips. I opened my eyes, and the cheetah was standing calmly next to me.

When I woke up, I thought about the choice we all have of how to react to our fears. We can feel frantic and scared, running from them like we are helpless and vulnerable. Or we can focus on our inner source of strength, knowing the peace we look for outwardly can only be found by going within. We can find clarity, understanding, and relief from our fears by tuning inward.

If there is an area of your life that feels scary and intimidating, try this exercise. Close your eyes and focus on finding that inner source of peace. Find the quiet deep within. Make friends with your fear, rather than fighting against it or running away.

You are strong, resilient, and capable. You can release your fear and find the strength you have in abundance by tuning inward.

Sending lots of love,

Melanie
