How to Receive Messages From Loved Ones In Spirit

How to Receive Messages from Loved Ones in Spirit by Melanie The Medium

In my work as a medium, one thing I know for sure is that when someone passes, they are not gone. You can still communicate with them, but the way you communicate is different. It’s like learning a new language.

When you adjust the way you communicate with them and know what to look for to receive their messages, you can have the comfort of knowing that they are okay and are still part of your life. Here are some ways you can receive messages from your loved ones in Spirit.

Talk to Them

The easiest way to connect with your loved one is to talk to them out loud or in your mind. They can hear you, so they know what you want to say.

Once you’ve said what you want to say, sit quietly for a moment and notice if any thoughts come into your mind in response. The thoughts will just float in subtly without having to consciously think them. You may feel your loved one’s presence, smell their cologne or perfume, get goosebumps on your arms, or feel some other indication that they are with you.

Write a Letter

Similar to talking to them, you can write them a letter. They will feel your intention to connect with them and will know what you are writing. When you’ve said what you want to say, imagine stepping aside and letting their thoughts come into your mind. Write whatever comes to you as if they are writing the response. Don’t overthink this. Just write.

You may feel like you’re making it up at first, but keep going and you’ll be able to feel your loved one’s energy around you and in the words you are writing from their perspective. Notice if the words sound like them and give you the type of guidance they would give.

Dreams

One of the most common ways to receive messages is through dreams. Before you go to sleep, ask for your loved one to communicate with you in your dream. I’ve found that when I meditate before I go to sleep, I tend to have more vivid dreams and receive messages more easily.

You might see your loved one, hear their voice, or see a symbol that you associate with them. If you suddenly wake up in the middle of the night, take a moment to remember what you were just dreaming. I’ve found that I usually wake up right after I receive a message.

If you see your loved one in your dream but aren’t sure if it’s really them or just your imagination, check out my Q&A article about how to tell the difference.

Ask for a Sign

When someone you love passes, it’s common for them to send a sign that they are okay on the other side. However, many people dismiss the signs as coincidence or their imagination.

You encounter a million interactions, images, sounds, or events every day, and most of them blend together. If you notice something that stops you in your tracks and makes you wonder if it’s a sign from your loved one, it probably is. I recommend writing down the signs you get so you remember them.

Anytime you are thinking of your loved one and want to know they are still with you, ask them to send you a sign. Be open to how the sign can appear. It might not come the way you expect it to. Just ask for a sign, and then be open to however it might come to you.

Through a Medium

Sometimes it helps to have a medium you trust share messages from your loved one. It can bring a lot of comfort and relief when a complete stranger is able to describe your loved one and get meaningful messages.

When a loved one passes, many people feel guilt, regret, or have unanswered questions. One of the great things about being a medium is answering those questions and freeing my client from the weight of guilt and regret.

I frequently hear that getting a reading is like having a conversation with the loved one again. Loved ones in spirit tend to share things that make my clients laugh! They help my client feel lighter, more peaceful, and hopeful about the future. Pets, family, and friends can visit during a reading, and you might hear from more than one person.

There are so many ways your loved ones can let you know they are still with you. No matter how your loved one passed, they are doing well on the other side. I hope these tips help you feel empowered to connect with them in new ways and that you receive a message from your loved one soon.

Sending you love,

Melanie
