Are we made in the image and likeness of God?

Hi Friends!

A few months ago in my article, You Are Worthy, I wrote about Jesus coming to me in my meditations. I was surprised when I first started seeing him. Eventually I got over myself and just started listening. He has come to me several more times since I wrote that post, and I have been feeling lately that I should share some of the messages he has given me.

Before I get to the message, I want to tell you how Jesus’ energy feels to me. His energy feels calm, like a still lake. Like all sound, rustling, and busyness has suddenly stopped. It reminds me of the part in Psalm 23, “…he leads me beside the still waters; He restores my soul.” That’s how it feels to me. His energy feels gentle and calming. I can understand, after feeling his wonderful, calming energy, why people would turn to him in times of distress.

He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul.

During one of his visits, he said that God is light. He said that the part in the Bible about us being made in the image and likeness of God is true, but it doesn’t mean that God looks like a human. He said that we are light. We are light beings. We shine with light and love. That is our natural experience. And that light is the same light of God. That love is the same love of God. We are created in His Image – Light.

And when we were created, it was not in the sense that you could take a piece of bread from a loaf and then the piece is disconnected and separate from the loaf. We are still part of God. The message I received is that it is more like paying attention to a certain word in a book. The word is not now separate from the book. It is still part of the book. It is just individuated. It gets individual attention. In the same way, we are all like words in the same book – all important, all part of the whole, all helping each other communicate the big picture. And the big picture is love. Love and Light.

Sending you love and light,

Melanie Jade 🙂
