Hi Friends!
I recently won a Morgan’s Tarot Deck from Helen at MyWingsofDesire. You all know I love the Pearls of Wisdom deck, which is full of vibrant colors, so I was surprised when I found myself drawn to the black and white, simplistic, Morgan’s Tarot deck. As soon as I opened the pack and started looking through the cards, I connected with it. There’s something in the simplicity and humor of the cards that draws me in and reminds me that situations that seem very complex and confusing can actually be looked at with very simple wisdom. Looking at the cards brings me back down to earth. I decided to draw a card from the deck to inspire today’s post.
Here’s the card that flew out of the deck:
The first thing that came to my mind was laughter yoga. Have you heard of this? Here’s a Discovery Channel video all about it:
Mark introduced me to laughter yoga shortly after we met. It’s usually call-and-response, where the leader says something like, “Ha Ha HeeHee Ha,” and the group repeats. It’s a lot of fun! I used to do a similar thing on my way to work several years ago. Near the time I was thinking about leaving my job at the emergency room, I would feel down driving to work. However, as I drove down the highway, whenever I caught myself feeling miserable, I’d smile the biggest smile I could. Then, every time, I would end up laughing at myself and how ridiculous I must look. It always made me feel better.
This card reminds me that laughter is a great mood-shifter. It also reminds me that things don’t have to be so serious, and that life is about having fun and enjoying each moment.
What’s the Morgan’s Tarot book say?
[box style= “rounded” border=”full”]Certain people in the environment are unaware of the true significance of your activities. Actually, I don’t know what this card means, nor am I laughing. Or perhaps you really are doing something absurd.[/box]See, there’s definitely something absurd about this deck and the accompanying book, but that’s part of what I like about it. It doesn’t take itself too seriously, and I think that’s a great lesson in itself 🙂
Love,
Melanie Jade 🙂
